Notary Services Are Not Legal Advice

EC Notary Services LLC does not provide legal advice. A notary may verify identity, witness eligible signatures, administer oaths or affirmations when appropriate, and complete notarial certificates as allowed by applicable notary rules.

A notary cannot explain the legal effect of a document, tell you whether you should sign, choose a document for you, choose the notarial act for you when legal judgment is required, prepare legal documents, or advise you about rights, obligations, risks, or legal consequences.

If you need help understanding a document, deciding whether to sign, determining which document you need, or evaluating legal consequences, you should contact a qualified attorney, the document issuer, lender, title company, government agency, or another appropriate professional.

Customer Responsibility for Documents

Customers are responsible for ensuring that documents are complete, accurate, and ready for the requested notary service before the appointment.

• Documents should be complete and ready to sign unless otherwise instructed by the document issuer.
• Required blanks should not be left incomplete unless the document issuer has instructed otherwise.
• Customers are responsible for knowing what document they need.
• Customers are responsible for confirming that the document is appropriate for their situation.
• Customers are responsible for confirming whether witnesses, additional signers, or supporting materials are required.
• Customers should not rely on the notary to determine whether a document is legally sufficient.

Identification and Signer Readiness

Each signer must typically appear before the notary with acceptable, current, government-issued photo identification. Identification requirements may vary depending on applicable law, document type, and notarial act.

Signers must generally be willing, aware, and able to communicate their intent to sign. A notary may decline or stop a notarization if identity cannot be verified, the signer does not appear willing or aware, the document appears incomplete, required parties are missing, or the request is outside the notary’s permitted role.

Appointment Availability

Submitting an appointment request does not guarantee that an appointment is confirmed. Appointment requests are subject to review and availability.

Availability, pricing, mobile service eligibility, timing, document requirements, travel requirements, and appointment confirmation may vary by location, schedule, document type, signer readiness, and service requirements.

Mobile Notary Service

Mobile notary service may be available by appointment, but it is not guaranteed until confirmed. Mobile service depends on service area, travel availability, schedule, document type, appointment environment, and customer readiness.

Customers requesting mobile service are responsible for providing a complete and accurate location, ensuring required signers are present, and preparing a suitable signing environment.

Loan Closing and Real Estate Signing Appointments

EC Notary Services LLC may provide notary support for eligible loan closing and real estate signing appointments, including purchase, refinance, seller, buyer, and related signing documents.

For loan closing or real estate documents, customers should follow instructions from the lender, title company, escrow company, signing service, or document issuer. EC Notary Services LLC does not provide legal, financial, lending, title, escrow, or real estate advice.

Document Uploads

Customers may be able to upload documents through the customer portal for appointment preparation or workflow review. Uploaded documents are used to support scheduling and preparation, not to provide legal review or legal advice.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that uploaded documents are relevant, accurate, complete, and lawful to share. Customers should avoid uploading unnecessary sensitive information.

Payment and Receipt Status

Payment requirements and receipt requirements may vary based on service type, mobile service needs, location, appointment timing, and document requirements. Payment or receipt status shown in the customer portal is part of the appointment workflow and may be updated by EC Notary Services LLC.

Receipt uploads or payment confirmations may be reviewed for workflow purposes. A receipt status update does not change the customer’s responsibility to comply with confirmed payment terms.

Right To Decline or Stop Service

EC Notary Services LLC may decline, pause, or stop a notary service when appropriate, including but not limited to situations where:

• Identity cannot be verified.
• A signer is not present.
• A signer appears unwilling, unaware, confused, coerced, or unable to proceed.
• The document appears incomplete or not ready for notarization.
• The request appears unlawful, improper, or outside the permitted role of a notary.
• Required witnesses, documents, identification, or supporting information are missing.
• The appointment location or conditions are unsuitable or unsafe.

No Guarantee of Outcome

Notarization does not guarantee that a document will be accepted by a receiving party, agency, lender, court, title company, or other organization. Customers are responsible for confirming document requirements with the party requesting or receiving the document.

Electronic Communications

By using the website, submitting an appointment request, creating a customer account, uploading documents, or communicating electronically, customers consent to receive electronic communications related to appointment review, document preparation, payment or receipt status, disclosure status, and service workflow.

Changes To This Disclaimer
